In order to create this dress, I asked myself these questions:

                        To empower women,

do we have to cover or reveal them?

Shelter or liberate them?

Protect or expose?

Embracing the multifaceted nature of these questions, I designed a knitted dress that embodies both extremes, merging elements of both concealment and liberation.

I worked together with knitwear lab to create a knitted naked dress of my own design.

We decided to go for a tubular jacquard so the contrast of the yarn pops more.

After doing some trials with the graphic printed I sent them the final graphic and measurements.

After receiving the final knitted panels, I pinned them on the doll and hand stitched the side seams with contrast yarn, to be able to then overlock them.

I also added under-bust bungee cords to tie it together with the rest to the looks.

After overlocking I've linked the side seams together and added the top hem.

Because the dress is very heavy I added a strong elastic within the band so it would hold up well.

After the dress was done I started with knitting the bolero sleeves. I went for a plated rib of the same yarns to bring that same contrast back.

After I brushed the sleeves to make the mohair fluffy and big.

The closing in the front I did with hooks and then I decided to add the same rib I have on the top of the dress to tie it all together.

I am super pleased with how the sleeves turned out, I really like how the brushed mohair ads volume and gives the silhouette some ego.
