This dress is merging traditional feminine elements like lace and ruffles with bold black ribs and hardwear details.
Like this the gender norms within clothing and femininty are challenged and an portrayal of intimidation is created.
Within the lace pattern I hid silhouettes of naked, posing women to give this traditional technique a provocative twist.

I started of by knitting the panels for the skirt which are a lace I made form my own pattern, showing the title surrounded by silhouettes of posing women.
For the top I made a cutom lace pattern that adjusts to the shape of the chest.
This I attached to the underbust rib and a collar on top.
I knitted a rib for the underbust and stitched out the shape of the chest on the mannequin, to then overlock it in this shape.
For the skirt I made a bunch of ruffles out of mesh to then attach on top in rows.
After receiving feedback at the fitting I decided to add beads and jewels to the end of the bungee cords to elevate the top and tie it in with the collection.
For styling I thought of using a lot of belts and chains to match the design and add some different materials to it.
I rally love the movement the skirt has when walking.
I added a long train on the back but it looks very straight so I am thinking of cutting it curved.
