In this look, I aimed to reclaim the color pink, traditionally associated with softness, sweetness, and femininity. By incorporating sporty elements, distressed knit, asymmetric gatherings, and a statement balaclava, the design challenges these stereotypes. This look embodies the complex duality of expressing femininity in a bold, unconventional way, without succumbing to traditional expectations.

After assembling all the knitted pieces I realized the garment looked too cute due to the color combined with the ruffles.

So I decided to add some distressed elements to roughen up the whole look.

I then also added some beading to the distressed part to add a contrast within this element.

While fitting the balaclava we came to the conclusion that instead of using bungee cords I should use a regular cord/ribbon.

Even tho this realization seems so obvious, I never would have gotten to it myself as I was so focused on this one element of my collection.

I then also embroidered the ends of the cord to give the balaclava a jewellery contrast .

The corset I designed myself and then embroidered digitally on organza.

Inge and I first only did a sample which didnt have the perfect stitching, with the aim to improve it later.

As Inge left and no one else knew how to make these improvements in the program, I decided to hand embroider the text to make it pop and give t more depth.

Then I added some loops for the closing and decided to use the same ribbon as for the balaclava to lace it up.
